Do we really want Obama in the White House?
Obama Explains National Anthem Stance Hot on the heels of his explanation for why he no longer wears a flag pin, presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama was forced to explain why he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played. According to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171, During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. "As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides," Obama said. "There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. When we say we have morales and values. does that make a person more judgemental of others, and prejudice.judging someone for the way they present their self, without knowing who they really are. My values are the deep love I have for family, a deep belief in God, and deep rooted honesty. which may not always be a good thing. sometime maybe honesty isn't always the right thing ,when it hurts others. I also value myself,accept myself. see both the shortcomings,and the good things, and at the end , I see the imperfect woman I am. and I realize that I am human.

I have given a lot of thought today about myself,
my own mistakes,and words,
trying to offer advice,give my thoughts and views,
hoping to be helpful,
but I am not sure that has been the result.
Words can be a knife to the heart.
and as I look back.
I have come to realize,
that perhaps I should stay the silent observer.

Let everyone that I love
make their own mistakes.as I make mine.
learn consequences if that is what it takes,
and Perhaps I'll stand quietly in the shadows,
only as a observer as they fight their wars
and struggles.I 'm sure I will hurt when they hurt,
and cry silent hidden tears,but only I will know.
Sometime it seems I only put a wedge between myself
and those I love when trying to help,
trying to give advice.
trying to use my life experience and my mistakes
to guide others into a better direction
than the path I walked on in my life,
Not always the perfect mother.or grandmother,
falling very short.
I sometimes see myself as being judgmental.
when I am not in the position to be a judge of anyone.
The choice of who to love is a choice of the heart,
not my choice to make.
Who is to say that one should chose wisely ,
if it means sacrificing love?

Little update on rebate

Taxpayers who choose direct deposit on their federal income tax returns can expect to receive their economic stimulus payments between May 2 and May 16 provided their returns were received and processed by April 15, 2008. For taxpayers who did not choose direct deposit on their tax return but whose returns were processed by April 15, the paper checks will be in the mail starting May 16, with the initial mailings completed by around July 11.

To deface the beauty of the moon with advertising seems unthinkable, but according to the news a Company offers to beam advertising on face of the moon. What are they thinking? someone looks up to the inspiring beauty of the moon, to see a advertisement? Hello..there is TV..and of course earth that has already been defaced,, I guess from the start,the moon needs to be listed as a endangered land. Men are running out of ideas to mess with earth, let's see , I guess a advertisement will beam, piece of the moon. dirt cheap. you can know longer enjoy it's beauty unless you buy it, than you can rent it to others for their viewing pleasure.. Not paying child support=jail Break the law=jail Getting tickets=higher insurance Etc. I believe that most of a teen's mistakes are caused from not being aware of the consequences. Moving out=rent,utilities,gas for transportation,food,car payment; before they smoke =cost of cigarettes give them a estimate of how much they will need to make a month to live on their own. I believe that the start of recession happened years ago, when a person was forced into bad credit due to high late charges,and bank charges, banks allowed to charge $32.00 plus.for insufficient charges,which may be from a occasional error. than there is the late charges that can end in 1000's for credit,or phone contracts that was not used to that extent.

I believe we should have a national holiday. for Native Americans, they are a very important part of our history, and our culture and their heritage should be and honored.

People seem to look at racism as something that only stems from white people,
But it has come to a reverse cycle,
where a person is afraid of agreeing with a white person
because they may be accused of racism.
Black people also show racism.
Someone said today that
I was a racist,
which is untrue,
If anyone would defend or befriend any race,
it would be me,
but I have also felt today,
racism in reverse.
I am finding that being a white person
is met with racism from other white people,
which is almost funny,
White people are afraid to take the side of another white person
esp.,if it's tenants.
Afraid they will be accused of racism.
It seems as if that word,
is always thrown in,
when there is a situation between a black person and a white person.
the black person wants to scream racism.
Maybe that causes more racism,
It would be a better world,
if we could just leave that word out,
and understand that sometime
it's a conflict of more personal issues,
yet to justify a argument,
and to be the person with the best argument
that word is thrown in.
The true fact is,
racism does exist,
but not only in the white community,
also in every race,
the black community also has racism.
The truth is that every race has felt racism,
and has been oppressed,
and it's time to move forward,
not to live in a past that occurred before our life time,
and to realize that every race experiences racism.
because people hold on to the past history,
and have a lack of understanding of each other,
and they seem to use the word racism at times
for a self serving advantage,
employers are afraid to hire a white person over a black person,
tenants arguments are often looked at with race,
because white people are afraid of looking as if they are prejudice,

I almost find it funny that people would make a huge argument
over a parking space as if it were the bus seat denied to Mrs. Rosa Parks,
in the 1950s.Personally I feel as id adults should politely communicate, and ask someone to move their car if it's not in a place that they agree on.I do not see a parking space worth a argument.Oh please...Let's move on..

Don't let our POW-MIA become forgotten causalities of war. Since the internet company 'not mentioning the name' has a higher speed upgrade recently,it seems my internet is slower,I wonder if that may be a ploy to have customers upgrade to the new higher speed.As my internet slows down,my imagination works in over drive with a consumer's questioning.

At the moment we enjoy flat rates with our local internet providers. but I am definitely concerned that if the Time Warner billing stays in effect, and spreads to other companies. charging to the amount of usage instead of a flat rate. people will be effected ,and the internet will not be affordable for the average user.

Campaign costs create trouble

This is not a good way to start your term: "Jindal charged $2,500 fine for ethics violation."
It seems politicians have a hard time having a clean campaign nowadays. Very disappointing.
Campaign money has become astronomical, and that's sad, too. It could be used so many places such as helping poverty issues.
It would be great to see the same kind of contributions given for politics given to charity.
I'm sure it's very hard for the average person to get into office due to the high costs of campaigning.

Most of young women have abortions without thought of what they are doing. I have never considered abortion. and never realized people actually do that, until years ago when a doctor had any patient he saw see a movie on the development of a fetus, I think every woman that considers abortion should see that movie, and they need to know, that a child 's life begins at conception. and that a aborted baby may feel the horrible pain. and that the death of a child from abortion and that decision is something a person would have to live with for life. When there are other options,Gerald Ford was adopted. Young women have abortions because of convenience embarrassment,or whatever reason, but isn't a child's life worth fighting for? a little embarrassment? a little inconvenience? Most problems are only temporary, and there are solutions, single mothers can care for children, even if there is a struggle, there are struggles in life, but isn't life worth the struggle? Young women are convinced that a fetus isn't a life,or a child, and they sometime make a mistake end a life, that can never be undone. This is a life and death decision. and the child pays the consequence with their life for those who choose unwisely, and decide to have a abortion. If family advise you. or they are mad, they will get over it, and if not, there are people and organizations that will help. Abortion is not a solution to problems that can be temporary. There are women who can't have children and as a last resort, give the child a loving home, but not death.

8 hours of school 5 days a week, a couple of hours of homework, chores expectation from parents, Expectation from teachers, peer pressure. self expectation. A lack of understanding something at times leads to not wanting to do homework, embarrassment and pride leads to not asking for help. No child wants to make a bad grade. Than there are the social issues Trying to fit in and feel accepted by peers. Worry about home problems., From single parent homes, to other problems at home., Often children's problems are overlooked. and disregarded, their feelings ,their thoughts options, not listened to, Than a parent wonders, why their child did not live up to their expectations

Parents often ground their child for having bad grades, In my option bad grades re not a behavior problem, and should be not be addressed as a behavior problem. There are situations where everyone has difficulty in learning something,and esp. very smart children have a lot of pressure on them to do well.A child does not want to make a bad grade, it embarrasses him with peers,he may know he will be grounded. Bad grades have a reason. Either a child has poor study skills,are is not understanding how to do the school work,sometime the teacher may not be taking up the time or explaining to where that child understands. When a child isn't dong well,both parent and teacher should be involved in finding the cause and the solution. Children sometime are too embarrassed that they don't know something and will not always ask for help.This can start in elementary and follow them though college. Students should not be made to feel they have done something wrong, just because they have problems learning something, A lot of the parents that ground their children for that,made bad grades their self,and may not have been grounded for it.Everyone wants their child to do well,and have a good life.but the child needs to see fairness in discipline , and it should be reserved a punishment for doing something wrong, not for having problems learning something in school. This will cause children to start to misbehave and rebel.

should keep in mind that the people
that call them are in stressful situations,
and don't need added stress,feelings hurt,or the feeling
they are a bother to anyone.
maybe the person can't help,
but a kind voice on the phone,
is so much easier to a distressed person,
than a rude voice.
People in programs meant to help others
may need a class in how to speak to people kindly.

A look back at 2007

Having family visiting I had less time to add things
about holidays,etc.
Looking back on 2007 for my family.
My first great grand daughter Desari was born on New Year's Day.
My daughter graduated from Tech and is continuing her education for
her Master's in Science and biology,
All of my children.grandchildren,and great grand daughter
came home for Christmas,
also mother and extended family.
2007 is filled with special family memories,
2008 started with a celebration
of my great grand daughter's first birthday.

It seems that our sr citizens,low income ane people with disabilities
are degraded and have a invasion of their privacy,
after qualifying for a medical card,
when calling for medical transportation
the medical transportation
dispatcher should not be allowed to ask about
medical information or if other transportation available
because to get a medical card you have to show required
proof of being eligible,which goes though the disablity office,
and it seems degrading a invasion of their privacy to have to tell
a dispatcher anything of a personal nature personal

Holidays

There are many religions around the world,
Many people have different
thoughts and views on God,
and Allah,Heavenly higher powers,
Jesus and Prophets.
In our family we have two religious faiths,
Christian faith.
and Muslim.
The most important thing to learn as a family
and as people
is to learn to accept differences
each others thought,
and religious faiths,and to not try to
force ours on each other
and how to respect each other more.
Religion is a hard thing to explain.
God has mysteries that are hard to explain.
There are those who do not believe he exists,
because they can't see Him with their eyes.
God is seen only with the heart.
For those of us who share the Christian faith.
We believe that God had a son.
and so loved the world,

His only son to be born on Christmas Day,
a Day that we honor by giving gifts,
good wishes to each other by
saying Merry Christmas,
Christmas is a beautiful loving time that inspires
us,gives us thoughts of each other
,and should be a time that lasts throughout
the year,because it's a time of unselfishness,love
and good wishes to each other,
In the Christian faith we believe
that A beautiful young woman named
Mary was chosen to be Jesus' mother,
and Her husband Joseph
was chosen to be His earthly father,
During the celebration of His birth
and the season of Christmas it is kind of like
Eid.we have family gathers and we have friends,
and parties and fun,
a custom of Santa Claus,
Which is the spirit of Christmas
giving gifts and love to others.
Years ago ,centuries ago there was a
man that saw that some children
were very poor
and he began to give gifts once a year,
We call him Santa Claus,
Father Christmas,or St.Nick.
He inspires us to do things for others,
and we buy gifts,
and add a little magic to Christmas
with a make believe Santa for kids,when in reality
he does live as the spirit of Christmas,
giving us the love to do for others.
In some areas of the country
it snows,beautiful white
soft flakes.people build snowmen,snow ball
fight,and sled ride,
We have many holidays of love.
We celebrate New Years Eve
and day as a new beginning of the year.
During this time we have fireworks,parades
in some areas of the country,and eat black-eyed peas
and corn bread for luck and good heath.
Than the next holiday is Valentine's Day.
On Feb 14th giving cards,flower and other gifts
to friends and those we love,esp.,couples
do things for each other
in the spirit of love.
This holiday came originally from a man

Also we have a holiday in
Feb. in Louisiana called Mardi Gras.

We call it Easter,which is like the Muslim Ramadan.

He was sent as a new born baby,
which Christmas Day represents,
in the spirit of giving the gift of love,
The reason for His birth was a message
of love from God,
While on earth He would speak God's heart
,and that while
He was here on earth he performed wonderful miracles
.at that it was a chosen fate for
Him to be placed on a cross,
for the sins of man,a sacrifice like a lamb
, and for that sacrifice
we have eternal life in heaven
God and Jesus, and Allah
a spiritual feeling of hearts,
that are felt when were open our hearts
and our minds to them.
During the Easter season
we also have a silly fun tradition
called the Easter Bunny,where we dye
and hide Easter eggs,and candy.
I am not sure where the Easter bunny came from
,but it is a fun make believe game play with children
to make the spirit of Easter fun for children.

Than in May we honor Mothers
,June we honor Fathers,
Fourth of July is independence day
a national holiday with parades

In November we set a time to be thankful,
and together with family,this holiday

to America,and at first became friends
with the native Indians that lived here
,they shared a dinner together
,and now dinner is traditional
Turkey,dressing,and cranberry sauce,
and pumpkin pie,a day
of family and friendship
and gatherings at each others house,
At the end of the day,
When Someday we go to heaven
and meet our maker,
God;;Allah,
I do not believe He will ask
what our nationality or race or religion is,
He will only ask,
Did you do good will,
and do you love me?
I believe we all need faith,
and that it is very wrong to try take away
something someone believes in.
With faith comes hope.
And my Christmas wish to my family,
and the world,
is that we all share,
peace,love,faith,and hope.
And to respect each other's faith.
Faith is believing in things that the eyes can't see.
And how a person chooses to worship God
is a very personal choice only meant to be made
by that person and God.
We are not hear to judge each other,
only God can do that,
We are here to love each other,
help each other,
and inspire each other,
to always seek peace and give love.
We should always share the Christmas
wish in the words of Merry Christmas, a wish for a Merry and happy heart,
and a wish for peace and good will.

At times we are silly and fun.
but the things we take serious
and believe with all of our heart,
is in our own spiritual faith.
and that all men are create equal,
and should have freedom,

I'm not sure how much it helps
to tell someone things about their self,
to help them improve their life,
Sometime it's a mirror of what they already see and know,
and a knife in the heart,
Even though they may not be able to change,
they now bleed a little more,
hurt more,
and perhaps die inside more.
The truth hurts,causes hard feelings and anger,
but often does not help the problems one struggles with.
That's why I often refrain from telling others,
my thoughts,and feelings.
Tearing a person down doesn't motivate them.
only inspiring them,giving them confidence in who they are,
and what there possibilities are
and giving them ideas and suggestions perhaps may be helpful,
If you want someone to succeed and win build them up with a strong foundation of who they are and what they are capable of doing.
Tearing down only causes the complete fall and failure.
The truth hurts.

It's hard to tell a person they are wrong.

with age comes wisdom

I am beginning to realize that you can't build someone up by tearing them down,
only by helping them build a stronger foundation.
and you can't give anyone your beliefs while disregarding theirs,
or give them your faith.
while taking theirs away.
You can't take things that people believe in away.
You can tell them your opinion but you can't force your opinion on them.
People need to respect each other's religion.belief,and who they are as a person,
and try to find the good about that person,
and be the mirror that reflects the good.

My lastest interest has been in trying to start petitions
for expanding and improving public transportation,
People can not became independent without a means of transportation.
Public transportation is often not in area
where people have been placed in low income complexes.
To improve public transportation will benefit the country,
it will help merchants to have more people to shop,
it will help unemployment if people have a way to their job,
and it will give people options where gas has grown very expensive,
Public transportation buses need to be made to be able to
sustain transportation with a environmental consideration.
Some buses have black smoke coming from them,
I do not believe that is good for our environment,
And needs to be improved.
Public transportation should be a very important issue,

It's very hard for single dads as well as for single mothers.
Not many people see the pain,heartache and hardships of a single dad.
He may want to be in his child's life,
But sometime it's such a huge fight,
as if he is in a storm,

Sometime he leaves to give and find peace,
out of love for his child.

Sometime it's like having you heart held hostage,

when he was into possible unknown drug problems,
took a shotgun,
and blew his own head off,

no one knew he would do that.

Is there a person without value?
I do not believe that anyone is without value,
we are all valuable in God's eyes.
He doesn't see our wealth or our poverty.
Poverty may cause people to do things in desperation
that they might not do otherwise.
It's so easy to judge others,

a real justice to their value?
Society brings down a person's sense of value,
with their expect ions of morals that society has made.
Maybe the moral standards are what brings person down.

My cousin's birthday is today,
She and I grew up together.
I feel very sorry for her,
she messed her life up,
and she's in jail now.
Even good people can do wrong things at times,
they regret and have to pay the consequences.
Also my friend John's birthday is today,

my lyrics into beautiful songs.

My daughter walked across the stage,
receiving her college diploma in Science,
also my new few Cody graduated from high school,
Im sure his dad would have been very proud,

Im very proud of them both.

trying to shop on $22.00 for a weeks groceries
so he could better understand the problems
of low income people.
I would like to see him run for the presidency.

Yesterday afternoon my grandson had his baby girl over here,and he did the diaper change,
and patiently soothed her when she cried.

they live in a 2 story house,
where they let the grandparents and a aunt
live on the first floor,on the second floor,

My daughter has 3 children.8,10,12,
Her husband is a dr of pharmacy
at a medical hospital over seas.
He is from there,but is a American citizen.
Although he is Muslim.
he has a great respect for our customs,
religious beliefs,thoughts,and views.
He is a wonderful caring man,
and my daughter is a angel.
He may wear the pants of the family,
but she holds the remote control,

The children are like all American kids,
They love to talk on the phone,
they do their homework sprawled on the floor,
with a pout on their face,
My granddaughter's bed is covered with dolls,
she excels in sports,soccer and ice skating,
my grandson's name was in the newspaper

loves to cook,esp baking cakes.

who would think there would be a ice skating rink
in the middle east,where in my mind,

When they come to visit,

They speak 3-4 languages well.
We stay in touch often though emails,

The most important thing we have done,

I'm not sure why I have some many photographs of myself,
One reason is I love photography,
it's a very creative outlet for my artistic expression.
I don't see myself as that attractive,
maybe Im looking for something outward beautiful
about myself,
when I look inward it's also sometime hard to see
my own beauty.
I don't know why I put out so many profiles.
on dating sites,
sometime maybe it's just for fun in a bored moment,
or maybe deeper, it's loneness,
and a wish for love.

I think I'm okay alone,
most of the time alone.
But it would be nice to have someone.
Until I do,
it's nice to have friends,
and the internet has been a great way to meet people.
Through all of my struggles,
as a single mother,
and living on a very small income,
the one thing I have always held onto,
is that I will love the person I marry,
if ever I marry again.

I see family that are couples,
with a good income struggle,
and it makes me realize that
I don't have anything to contribute
financially,
and that has been and will be
a barrier to a relationship,
along with the fact I have panic attacks,
and don't drive
I'm not crazy.
A lot of mental health professionals believe that people have panic attacks
due to frightening past experiences,
which I have had many of,
but I believe that it is a defected gene that causes them.
just like those who crave danger have a defected gene.
Men want a assertive and strong personality,
independent
and can keep their life in control,
that have common interests,
women that hurt,fish,play sports,
bonus points.
Friend,buddy,companion.
and men are more intimated over sexiness,
and sex than people realize,
They want comfort,

I think people's marriage breaks up at times,
because they don't know what they want,

through maybe fantizy and delussions,

College grad is May 19,
I have mixed feelings,
pride and nervous about leaving our comfort zones,
for my daughter and I ,
life will change.
My daughter may grad from college in May,
It's very exciting,
and more stress that I realized,
she still has to pass a very hard class,
if she does't grad,it will devastate her,
in my heart,
I'm always proud of her,
she has made it this far,
but for her own feelings,
I hope she will grad.
I believe she will.
Also stressful is the expense
of grad.
The moment I saw her grad picture,
I was deeply moved,

I just got my daughter's grad pic in the mail today,
she is grad from college,
and seeing her picture made me very teary eyed,
than I turned the news on,
to see the heartbreak
of the Virginia College murders today of 33,
with 15 injured from a lone gunman,
a troubled young person who later
shot his self.
My heart went out to the parents,
and loved ones of the victims.
I can not understand,
why they just had the college police
handle it,
why they did not swarm the place,
earlier.
Why couldn't they find some way to bring security
into the university after finding the first 2 murders,
it just doesn't cut it to me,
it's so heartbreaking,
and the thoughts of a college daughter's mother,
is now of concern for safety at colleges,
as she hopes to go to grad school in the fall.
The kids today feel a wave of violence,
that I have never seen in my lifetime.
What gives someone such rage,
and mental distubance,
that they would randomly kill so many people,
for no reason?

The year of my daughter's high school grad,
was a tradgdy too,
where a man shot and killed,
2 little girls I had watched growing up,
and the older of the 2 had played with my grandson.
Those deaths were very sad,
the man was on drugs,
and the police did not enforce a restraining order.
a sad result to abuse and drugs.

Maybe some people love too deeply,
and lose rational thinking,
or maybe they already had mental illness.
adding drugs and achohol to the mix,
makes a very bad and dangerous combination.

Whatever happened that caused the murders today.
I feel very sad for the families of the victims.

College kids are under a lot more pressure
than people realize.
pressure to pass classes,find
jobs,etc.as they gamble 20-100 thousand dollars
on a education ,they have to pay for,
even if they don't succeed,
or graduate.

The Saga Ends

The surprising end to the soap opera reality court room show,
Anna's mother,walking in the middle,
with arm and arm,
between the two men believed to be the possible father of the baby.
A touching ending to a tragedy that had become almost a tragedy comedy.
in the courtroom.
I admired the judge a man that had been a former cab driver,
who got his degree in law,became a attorney,and than a judge,
both he,Anna,Anna's mother and Larry.
seemed as if they came from similar backgrounds,
I don't really know Howard's background,
but he seemed to me,to have deep love for both Anna and her baby.
It was drama that bought the best and the worst out ,
perhaps letting them express emotions that helped to heal,
To me the judge was a very human judge,
not overlooking the spiritual side,
took a great deal of courage in the court.
He may have been a little rough around the edges,
the cab driver that became a judge,
but he was also a man with heart.
To me Anna seemed to have been a very beautiful person,
that reached out for a dream that came so true,
it over powered her,and at times over shadowed the beautiful woman within.

News is becoming, a combination
of a soap opera,comedy,thriller,horror show,
I guess that is the definition of the world around us,and life.

Anna Nicole's court situation,
has sadly turned into a tragic comedy,
Anna should be buried next to her son,
and her mother should realize that.
It seemed she must have had a premonition
she wasgoing to die,
she had bought a burial plot by her son.
and had a dress maker make a special dress.
I belive Elvis had a similar premonition
singing the song my way,and a few other songs
he sung as if it were a goodbye
to his daughter,those he loved,
and the world.
It's amazing that so many men claim
to be the father of her baby.
when there are so many other situations,
where men run from responsibility,
due to child support,
I believe each of these men.

Does soceity sell our mentally handicapped short

Doesn't society put too much emphasis
on intellect,and high grades in school,
placing to much pressure of kids to perform
while making it a embarrassment to have any
learning disabilities,and throwing a shadow
over the overall person.
that may cover areas they excel in.
to where their possible achievements
are blind sighted,and often left unnurtured?
Do we expect too much from gifted kids,
and believe children with learning disabilities,
can not do things,such as learn how to use a computer?
Sometime placing mentally handicapped into job programs for handicapped,
to do jobs,that the average person would not do,while not receiving minimum wage,
which should be given to everyone,as the law states,
regardless of race,religion,or handicap,
But when jobs are giving though government programs,
employers are not required to pay minimum wage,
and receive a tax break,
which seems like,getting paid for breaking the law,
because our government gives a loophole,
which also seems like slave labor,
using the handicap for below min wage labor.
Does society realize that people such as Van Gogh,
had mental illness ,yet contributed to the world,
so profoundly,
that he would be recognized for centuries for his talent?

Surprise chimp born at La. sanctuary Wed Jan 17, 8:56 AM ET

SHREVEPORT, La. - In a mysterious bit of monkey business, a female at a chimpanzee sanctuary has given birth, despite the fact that the facility's entire male chimp population has had vasectomies.

Now managers at Chimp Haven are planning a paternity test for the seven males who lived in a group with Teresa, a wild-born chimpanzee in her late 40s who had the baby girl last week.

Workers have started collecting hair samples from the chimps for testing. Once they identify the father, it's back to the operating room for him.

Chimp Haven managers said they knew something was up when Teresa was missing during morning rounds on January 8. Later in the day, she appeared with a newborn chimpanzee in her arms.

"Well, we were all just a little bit surprised when we heard the news," said Linda Brent, a spokeswoman for Chimp Haven.

The baby chimpanzee was named Tracy and she and her mother are doing fine, Brent said.

Teresa had 10 other offspring before retiring to Chimp Haven over a year ago. This is her first baby in 13 years.

It's also the first chimpanzee born at the sanctuary although officials there hope there will be no more accidents.

Chimp Haven provides long-term care for chimpanzees who are no longer needed for laboratory research. It was established by a group of primatologists and is located on 200 forested acres about 20 miles southwest of Shreveport. The first chimpanzee residents began arriving in 2005, according to the sanctuary's Web site.

How did I survive???
TO ALL THE KIDS
WHO SURVIVED the 1930's 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's !!
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant.
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.
Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking
As infants & chilren, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags.
Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.
We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank koolade made with sugar, but we weren't overweight because ..
WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day.
And we were O.K.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times,
we learned to solve the problem.
We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's,no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or chat rooms.......
WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.
We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.
We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays,
made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them!
Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!
These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventorsever!
The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!

but I do believe in God..

Without faith..
there is no hope,

So I prefer to have faith,
and believe there is more to life,
than a breathe of air,

Saving Your Laptop after a Spill

Water, coffee, and soda are among your laptop's worst enemies. Just a little bit of such a liquid on your laptop keyboard can damage or destroy your machine or cause you to lose data.

Some laptops are more vulnerable to damage from a spill on the keyboard than others, and it doesn't always have anything to do with the price tag. Some keyboards have a thin rubber membrane beneath the keys with electrical contacts molded right into little domes under each letter; that design may feel squishy and cheap to some users, but it stands up better to a splash or a flood than a more traditional design with springs and exposed contacts. How do you know which type of design you have? Take a look for yourself by prying off a keytop; if you're shopping, you may be able to get the information from the manufacturer or a dealer.

The best way to prevent damage from a mix of liquid and electronics is to keep them as far apart as possible. Keep your laptop far away from cups of coffee, glasses of water, and cans of soda.

But in the real world, stuff happens. If you have a choice of poisons, take the water spill. A hot cup of coffee, a cold glass of soda, or a glass of wine are each bad news; all of them are slightly acidic. Acidic liquids are nastier than nearly neutral water because the acid can corrode metal contacts. And both coffee and soda can become gummy and sticky as they dry.

Here's the drill for an emergency recovery from a spill:

1. If you have your machine plugged into wall current, turn off the power at the circuit breaker in your home or office.

You don't want to touch a wet wire carrying 110 volts or so.

If you're running the machine on battery power, it's still operating, and you don't see sparks, hear odd noises, or smell burnt electrical components, shut your laptop down through the normal Windows process.

If something is obviously wrong with the machine, turn it off immediately by depressing the Off switch or by removing the battery.

2. Ground yourself by touching the center screw on the faceplate of a dry electrical outlet or by touching some other metal object that reaches to ground.

3. If you haven't done so in emergency mode, remove the AC adapter and the battery, and set them aside.

4. Disconnect any external devices (such as a mouse) attached to the USB, FireWire, serial, or other ports.

5. If you find any liquid on the battery or AC adapter, wipe them carefully and set them aside.

If your spill has thoroughly soaked the AC adapter or the battery, you probably need to consider it a loss. You can get replacement AC adapters and batteries from various sources, including the original equipment manufacturer, laptop accessory companies, and the used market.

6. Remove any cards installed in the PC Card slot.

If they're wet, carefully dry them off. If any water has gotten into the narrow slot, dry out the area with a cotton swab, taking care not to leave any threads of cotton in the internal connector.

7. Wipe off any liquid on the display.

Use a clean cloth dampened with water to remove any sticky residue.

8. Remove the hard drive and the CD/DVD drives if you have them installed in plug-in bays.

Dry them off if they're wet. Set them aside.

9. Open the memory module container; remove and dry the memory modules.

Make notes on the placement of the modules. Set them aside.

10. Hand-dry the keyboard surface with a lint-free cloth.

If you spill soda or coffee, consult the instruction manual for your computer and learn how to carefully remove each of the keycaps for the affected area. If the instruction manual includes a picture of the keyboard, make sure that you can see the names of all the keys and their locations; otherwise, make a drawing of the board, paying special attention to the location of some of the specialized keys, including cursor keys, Page Up, Page Down, Scroll Lock, and the like. Or you can use a digital camera to take a picture of the keyboard.

11. Clean the exposed membrane or switch cover and the keys themselves.

Leave the keys to dry before replacing them.

12. Leaving the display open, place the computer on a sturdy surface supported by two books or small boxes.

This setup lets air circulate all around the computer. Leave the computer and all of its separate parts to air dry for at least 24 hours. Don't use a fan or (horrors) a hair dryer to attempt to fast-forward the drying process.

13. Reassemble the pieces that you removed.

Do this step a day or more after doing Step 1 through Step 12, and make sure that everything is dry and that you don't have any dried puddles of sticky acid left anywhere on the machine. Remember to ground yourself before touching any circuitry or modules, and begin the power-up process with the battery first and the AC adapter second.

If in doubt about the safety of any part, you should go ahead and replace it instead of using it. Replacing a battery, an AC adapter, or even a hard disk drive always costs a lot less than replacing a motherboard

society has made holidays,

depression and hurt feelings,
for those who are alone.
Sometime I wonder,
Do we really need holidays,
that only serve to create materialism.
and remind others of the love,
and materialism they don't have,
Holidays can tear families apart.
I try to look forward to holidays,
and the joys of Christmas,
but when I see the unhappiness,
and hurt feelings,
and depression that it causes ,
sometime I wonder,
if a holiday is really a good and healthy,
thing to celebrate,
Causing people to go beyond their means,
to give sometime meaningless gifts,
some gifts say,
you don't really know me.
Some gifts say.
You love someone else more.
Gifts sometime speak,
louder than words,
and cause secret pain and heartache,
that seals into the heart,
stealing away the feelings of love,
and replacing them with resentment,
anger,jealousy,hate,
all wrapped up in a pretty box.
Gift buying and giving ,
become a duty,
and thoughtless.
Holidays can be a cold reminder,
to those in proverty,
of how little they have,
and a cruel reminder to the lonely,
that they are alone.
So why do I still love holidays so much???


Christmas party

We had a very nice and fun Christmas party,

the wek before Christmas at my son's,
my daughter was going to be gone for Christmas,
so we got together early,
his house looked very pretty with Christmas lights
all over it,
and a beautiful huge real Christmas tree.
It seemed like a Norman Blackwell Christmas.
well maybe not,,lol,
he grilled hamburgers which were great,
my grandson song for us,
and he and my daughter's boyfriend played the guitar,
it was a real nice family time.

no turkey dinner,
felt bad until they did a recall
the next day on turkeys,

the day after Thanksgiving,

They rolled my mom's wheel chair out to the dance floor
dancing with her,she loved it and had
the time of her life,
and of course a hug from hottie Toddy.
gave her a beautiful end to a fun evening.
These people are wonderful,
they give fun to people
who otherwise would not have had
such a great time,
a couple that had a retardation or mongoloid,
danced together,
kissing each other on the dance floor,
on a slow dance.
and some bumb and grind,
it was a very sweet thing to see,
very romantic,
they seemed very much in love!
They danced very good,
people are sometime sold short,
when they are handicapped.

My mom is in the hospital,
don't think she will be in more than a couple
of days...

Last week I received my boots,
and the calves were so huge
I could have carried home groceries in them,
or my daughter and I both could have put our
legs in them.
Green boots looked so good in the picture
and the perfect color for my coat,
a ebay win,
first excitement,
than total disapointment!
Sent them back,
in hopes for a exchange
which is't likely with that seller.
Than I got my black beautiful lace heels.
another disapointment,
way to big,
I can wear a 7 and a half in boots,
and some heels,
I got them from Newport News,
a awesome online shop,
that accepts returns,
but its aggraving ,
and of course I have to pay
for the postage.
but I hope the pair they send

This goes way over my head in understanding..
Why does anyone want to make a memorial,
tht costs 85 million,or was that billion,
such as the Martin Luthor King memorial
when there are starving people?
I think Martin Luthor King would agree!

Thie weekend was nice,
my daughter won't be with me for Thanksgiving,
so she and her boyfriend came over
to cook my dinner.
I belive his mom gave her the recipe,
she never learned more than how
to use a micawave until she was 21.
she's 23 now,
and made a home made carrot cake,
and crawfish pasta.
She's always learned fast and has
always wanted to do the max
at learning or doing anything.
she learned to knit,sew,cook ,in a day,
and can keep up with professionals,
in those areas,she amazes me!
I went to church Sunday.
Wedecorated the tree,
while she was here.
a little early, but it was fun!

it was like going home.
I hadn't been to church in years.
and I went back to church Sunday.

There's a new building,
everything is very comfortable,
go casual in jeans,
dress up,
they don't care,
just welcome you,
the music was beautiful,

I really enjoyed it,

I have been very excited about getting some
green boots that would match my green coat
that I ordered from Ebay,
I was very disappointed when I got them.
They were huge in the legs,
and so funny fitting,
my legs and my daughter's legs could have fit in them,

but I think that was a waste of time,

My teeth now look pretty good,
I went to church,
I haven't been to that one in years,

and saw a old friend that said I still look as young as ever while he said he aged,

I had to hug him twice,
his wfe looked very beautiful,

They are beautiful lovely couple,

I see that love in my daughter's boyfriend's parents too,
It's a beautiful inspiration when you see
two people who stay in love,
All of my children seem to have found happiness

I enjoyed church,
I will most likely go more often
That church is the one that
I had taken my children to before it changed locations,
it was like coming home,
seeing people I had known for years.
Years ago they gathered at my home, outside and sung Christmas carols to me, it is one of my favorite Christmas memories.

I thought that I heard someone outside
of my window again early this morning, called 911,
noise is gone now,
so I'm more convienced that
I heard someone.
not just the wind.
called 911,
and was told one night
to look outside,
it was most likely a animal,
Hellooo,
Im not crazy enough to look outside!
the 911 dispatcher was very rude,
makes you hate to call 911,
I reported her,
and the sgt said she
followed procedure!
what kind of procedure
tells someone to look
to see if there is someone outside!
If I hadn't been scared.
and thinking someone was out there
I would not have called them.
and don't feel comfortable
about calling them in the future,
but of course I will,
if a problem arises.

I was online reading poetry which is something I rarely do,
but I came across your poem that is titled “thank you”
about the soldiers fighting over here in this “war”.
I am currently a deployed army soldier deployed to iraq,
and I must say that its definitely appreciated to know that
some people in this world care about soldiers deployed.
To many people hate on us for what the media shows,
but no one really knows what really happens here,

The next day,I had problems with my external hard drive,

I had backed up,and thought I did,

Great news,my daughter n law got her lincense,
to style hair.
My 13 yr old grandson killed two deer the other day,

Didn't know if I should be happy or cry,haha,
Daughter is thinking about grad school.

Poverty leads to misplaced values, and a misconception of self worth.
Sometime the appeal of name brand labels are really a desperate means to validate
a person's self worth.dignity,and self esteem.
Too often lost in the society are the true meaning of self worth.dignity,
and self esteem.
A person does not need to find self worth,
for they are worthy the day of their birth,
But those in poverty do not realize that,
those who have not felt they accomplished something
in their life also do not realize their worthiness.
What ever we have or have not done successfully
has no true meaning in self worth.
Some how people lose the moral fiber that is so important
for their inner peace,
Honesty. and integrity.
We have lost or misplaced our values.
We have become a society that has lost self discipline.
A person can live in poverty and still be a person of value,
and contribute to society in some way.

Today

My mom and dad got married Sept.25,1944.
My dad passed away 37 years ago.
I found a card that he gave her
a few days before he passed away,
it's 11 by14.
signed your loving husband,
I framed it,
and Im giving her that,with a beautiful red teddy bear.
and some pretty cds.
as a gift to her in memory of my dad.
Almost as if he gave her something.

Yesterday

Ok I admit it,
I have this huge crush on my daughter's doctor,
I haven't seen in months,
He looks like a movie star,
ruggedly handsome,
even though he was slumming
in old shorts and a tshirt,,my heart still missed a beat,lol
of course he doesn't know I have a crush on him,
does he?
No one must have broken leg lately,
he was shopping at the dollar store,
too funny!
and the woman he was with ,
was just average,
no makeup,
which made me feel better,
I had no makeup,
me slumming,
we talked a few minutes,
than as I left I saw a crippled woman
coming toward to store,

I dropped my bags,
