Daddy’s Lessons
Daddy you taught me games of life.
with the childhood games we played.
You never let me cheat;
I had to learn from the mistakes I made
When it was my move,
I always wanted to prove I could win.
But what I learned was to try again.
Daddy you taught me life’s rules,
and those lessons I'd never trade.
Each game you used as tools,
to prepare me for the path that fate has made.
If I don’t lose the battles I have fought,
It’s because of the lessons that you taught.
From one game you taught me to take a chance.
From another game you taught me in the rain to dance.
I learned when I prayed,
God takes away the mistakes I made.
Daddy you taught me lessons I wouldn’t trade,
Those memories will never fade.
I learned to talk in the October shade;
I learned to walk on the path you paved.

The Soldier’s March
Hut, Two, Three, Four,
My daddy used to say as we walked out the door.
Trust in God and clear your mind.
Don’t think of anything more.
In time it will take you to Heaven’s arch,
Trust in God and the Soldier’s march.
There may be times that you feel your worst.
Your mind will make your body thirst.
But your soul has the courage to carry the torch,
Trust in God and the Soldier’s March
If every you are hungry for something to eat,
Are there’s a time when you have weary feet,
Where ever you go in the darkness
you won’t be blind,
For you find Heaven shines a light
with a golden touch.
If you trust in God and the Soldier’s march.
A game daddy taught me as a child,
He said you need to know how to march,
and he smiled. You can find a way to Heaven’ s Arch,
Remember to trust God and the Soldier’s March,
Daddy has marched to Heaven’s door,
Hut, Two, Three, and four
My Daddy
Daddy was a soldier in world war two,
He had a quick smile and his eyes were blue.
Daddy's words were always true.
Daddy loved his country and momma too.
This is the man I knew.
My daddy.
March with Daddy
Daddy used to march the soldier's march.
Daddy once carried liberty's torch.
I'll always remember marching with daddy out the door.
We'd say hut two three four.

My Loving Dad
It was kind of ragged the old shirt he had,
And it seemed like it was always plaid,
Katcky pants he wore all of the time,
He'd pick up coke bottles to have a dime,
And a look that was kind of sad,
That was my loving dad.
I felt so ashamed of him I could die,
When I saw him lay down and cry,
I never thought to ask him why,
About the life he had ,
And a look that was kind of sad,
That was my loving dad.
He fought a war ,and he didn't run,
He fought for everyone,
I was too young to understand,
He was a man,
He drinked wine and he would cry,
I felt so ashamed of him I could die,
I never thought to ask him why,
About the life he had,
And the look that was kind of sad,
That was my loving dad.
Sometime I look back,
Wishing I could retract
He was a man who's dreams had died,
I just wanted to run and hide,
It makes me kind of sad,
For the way a young child could act
When I think of my loving dad.

A mother’s Love
I believe in angels, I' v e seen them with my eyes,
I have one that watches over me, In sweet dequise.
God looked down on me from heaven above,
And He showed me an angel, in a mother’s love.
I’ve seen an angel smile, as she comforts my heart,
I ‘v e seen an angel’s light, when I m in the dark.
God looked down on me from heaven above,
And He showed me an angel, in a mother’s love.
Love to my mother Estelle Puckett

Angel’s Care
I know God has great expectations,
of how I live my life,
For He sent me an angel,
to be my guiding light.
I’ve walked in her footsteps,
As she led the way,
My Salvation is in the prayers,
I heard her pray.
Sometime I seem to stumble,
On a stone on the road,
I’m always humbled,
As God takes my heavy load.
I know it’s because she said a prayer.
God has me in an angel’s care.

Momma’s soft touch
I can't say I understand,
the magic in her hand.
but nothing in life seems
to hurt as much.
after momma's soft touch.
It’s never been quite clear
how she can hold me near.
And whisper in my ear And take the pain.
And wipe the tear,
She seems to take the hurt.
She knows what will work.
Nothing in life seems
to hurt as much
after momma's soft touch.
. She's an angel just meant
For us.
I’ ve walked in her angel dust.
Nothing in life seems
to hurts as much.
after momma's soft touch.

The Red Rose
My mother is like a red rose,
She grows more beautiful in the rain
My mother is like an angel, with God’s light shining in her flame,
A mother’s touch is the closest touch to Heaven above,
God looked at me and smiled, When I was a child,
For He knew He chose a red rose, For me to love.
Love always to my Mother, Estelle Puckett
The Red Rose

You are in my prayer
Mamma said ,
I know that it's storming,
So I prayed for you this morning,
You are in God's care,
and you are in my prayer,
you are in my prayer.
Momma said,
Sometime a mother will worry,
Her child is her glory,
Love is like breathing the air,
You are in God's care,
and you are in my prayer,
you are in my prayer.
Mamma said,
Don't you worry,
There is a crown in glory,
I know someday you will get there,
You are in God's care,
And you are in my prayer,
you are in my prayer.
