Simple Treasure

I chased Fireflies in the night skies.
I chased butterflies in the morning sunrise.
When I was a child,
I picked the flowers wild.
The pleasure Id find,
in the treasure of a dandelion.

I made a chain of clover,
and played Red Rover,
and Hide and Seek,
With Angel dust on my cheek.
When Coke was a dime.
Those childhood memories
stay in my mind.
I always smiled when I was a child.
With pleasure at the wild flowers I’d find.
And the simple treasure of a dandelion.

Diamonds and Dandelions

God gave us diamonds and dandelions
To show us treasures and simple
pleasures are here to find.
Like the stars shining on the water,
The fragrance in the winds.
God shows His beauty with
each treasure He lends.
From stars that always shines,
To diamonds and Dandelions.
God gave us simple pleasures.
Such as a friend to find,
God gave us simple treasures,
In the beauty of a Dandelion.

A diamond is like the sparkle in the eye,
or the stars in the sky,
When they sparkle I see why,
God gave us something
to measure love by,
The simple treasure,
Seen with the heart ,
not the eye in loving times.
God gave us
Diamonds and Dandelions.

Summer

Like a little child,
I look for the flowers growing wild,
The spring unveils,
as if nature had magic spells.
With its mystic powers,
offering a rainbow to chase,
As the sun shines warmly on my face.
The summer is here, wiping away winter’s tear.
Nature and I are in a warm embrace,
Warmed by the sun’s summer hot rays.
Memories linger of childhood days,
When butterflies were chased,
in the morning haze.
And hot summer sun chased the moon and stars away,
Nature’s law defines nature’s play.
The sun shines on me warmly today
The summer is here,
wiping away winter’s tear.

For that little child's smile.

Some people call them names like tramps,
They are on section eight and food stamps,
Life isn't that great,
light in the dark with dimly lit lamps,
So looked down by society's eye
They are single mothers just trying to survive,
They sometime would like to lay down and die,
But they stay ,stay alive.
They may not last for much longer
. As they try to become stronger.
For that little child's smile,
They stay ,they stay awhile.

No one knows their heartache and pain,
Double standards give them a name,
They search for love so hard in vain,
Once they loved in a hot burning flame,
Some were just a lonely lost child,
Caught up in a moment
that they were young and wild,
Caught by a devil's smile.
So looked down by society's eye
Their pain cuts like a knife,
Sometime they just want to lay down and die,
But they stay ,stay alive,
They may not last much longer,
As they try to become stronger,
For that little child's smile,
They stay,they stay alive.

Poverty's queen,
carrier of the lost dream.
No one's bride,
Tears inside,
They hide,
Lost pride.
a bird with a broken wing,
doesn't fly,
Their life isn't trifle.
They live in a dive,
So looked down by society's eye
Sometime they just want to lay down and die,
But they stay,they alive,
They may not last for much longer.
Trying to grow stronger
For that little child's smile,
They stay,they stay alive.

holding on for awhile.
For a little while longer.
Trying to grow stronger
For that little child's smile.
Looked down by society's eye,
Sometime they want to just lay down and die,
Some time some may rise up high,
And mend their wings .
once again they fly,
They stay alive.
For that little child's smile.
They stay,They stay alive.
For a little while longer
. Trying to grow stronger.
For that little child's smile.

For Today

Give me the time I borrow,
And let me run and play,
I don't won't to think about tomorrow,
It may not come any way.
I don't won't to drown in tears of sorrow,
Let the sun shine while it may,
I don't won't to think about tomorrow,
Just let me live for today.

I don't won't all the worry,
Of tears I don't yet know,
I don't won't to make heart ache hurry,
Let me linger in the peace in my soul,
I don't know about tomorrow,
For today is the time I borrow,
There is a season of laughter,
and a season for sorrow,
The rain may come,
and the wind may blow,
Let me linger in the peace in my soul.
I don't want to drown in the tears of sorrow,
Let the sun shine while it may.
I don't won't to think about tomorrow,
Just let me live for today.

I stand alone.

I'll stand for what I believe,
If others choose to turn away,
I 'll stand alone.

I see something wrong,
I can't quiet my heart,
I can't stop my tears,
I have to speak for those who silently cries,
on deaf ears,
I saw the courage it takes,
For a child to speak,
I saw justice and it's mistakes,
and I weep,
I wish I could right the wrong,
But I stand alone.

The crowd applauds,
And I hear the cheers,
So load they ring in my ears,
Through the sting of my tears,
For injustice's song,
I stand alone.

The heart of a woman.

She can pick him up or put him down,
She can make him feel a rose's thorn,
Or she can give him a crown,
From the love where kings are born.
He can become strong in the storms,
If he knows he's coming home to waiting arms,
The making of a man,
Can be in the heart of a woman.

He can rise above all adversity,
He can hold his head up high,
He can be a hero,
For her love he'd surely die,
If she holds his hand,
He can always stand,
Or she can let him fall,
The woman is the heart of it all.

Behind every good man,
There needs to be a woman,
She can teach him to stand,
and to be strong,
Somewhere in his life he will find her,
A soft shoulder he could learn on,
In the dark,
She can be the tears to a sad song,
Or she can be the part of him that makes him strong,
Women you need to understand,
That the man,
Is held up with the heart of a woman.

God meant for her to be at his side,
Not to take and strip his pride,
To help him on when his dreams have died,
And in the dark to hold his hand,
A man is held up with,
of the heart of a woman.
I watched the breaking of a man,
I watched him fall,
I saw another hand,
Help him to again stand tall,
I begin to understand,
That in the making of a man,
Is the heart of a woman

The Old Drunk's Daughter

Somehow it enticed him.
the greatest temptation he knew,
she ran from him
,but a old ww2 soldier's pain sought her.
From a bottle of wine that held him captive,
stronger than a love that was true,
Heartache is all he had brought her
. He fell into the gutter,
where love wasn't easy to find.
washed away by sewage water,
I'm that old drunk's daughter.

Who knows what he could have been,
If only he were stronger back than,
But he fell into the gutter.
drunk and blind.

He was washed away by the sewage water,
All of the what if's and might have beens,
All of the father's sins that once caught her.
Were lessons that life has taught her,
The school for a old drunk's daughter.
Maybe he wanted to stop,
But he never made it to the mountain top,
In the dark valley he may have fought a war,
In a dark alley he lost sight of the star,
He fell into the gutter,
with that old wine
He was washed away by the sewage water,
Leaving behind the old drunks daughter.
With the lesson's life has taught her,
He fell into the gutter, one last time.
He was washed away by the sewage water,
Leaving behind the old drunk's daughter.
